Supporting wounded LASD Deputies
On 12 September 2020, a gunman walked up to two Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies who were working in Compton, California. The two deputies were seated in their cruiser when the gunman opened fire on them.
The deputies were shot in the face and upper body. The gunman fled the area.
Although wounded the two deputies got out of the cruiser, located a defensive position, called for help and administered first aid.
Help arrived and the deputies were taken to the hospital were protested blocked the emergency entrance and chanted that they hoped the deputies died.
This entire episode made me sick and frustrated that anyone would just walk up to the police and shoot them. Even worse, protestors blocked the wounded from getting into the hospital!
I began messaging LEO’s in the US who also run small businesses to see if we could help. Although this endeavour was not successful I decided to put patches on sale to raise money for the two Deputies via GoFundMe.
In the end 17 patches were sold and $50.00 USD was donated.
Bravo Zulu to everyone who participated!
